Maureen Garrett attended Florida State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree (Psychology) in 1992. She received her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1996. She is licensed to practice in the State Courts of Texas, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Texas. Her affiliation with professional and community service includes: serving as a director for the Texas Young Lawyers from 1999-2001 and as Treasurer of the board from 2002-2003, a director for the Houston Young Lawyers Association from 1999 to 2005, a Trustee for the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation since 2002 and Chair of the Houston Young Lawyer Foundation Board from 2004-2005. She is also a member of the Houston Bar Association. Her practice areas concern product liability and toxic tort.
