 Amy Bures Danna is licensed in Texas and practices in the areas of Civil Litigation, Toxic Tort, Wills & Trusts, and Animal Law.

Amy received a Bachelor of Arts degree (Chemistry) from Saint Vincent College, Pennsylvania, a Master of Science degree (Chemistry) from Auburn University, Alabama, and spent 13 years in analytical laboratory management with Georgia Gulf Corporation, ARCO Chemical Company, and Lyondell Chemical Company. As a graduate of South Texas College of Law, Amy drew upon her years in the chemical industry to enter civil litigation, primarily in manufacturing and chemical company defense. Her casework experience covers a variety of matters, including Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Insurance Claims, Consumer Bankruptcy, Personal Injury Claims, Contaminated Fuel disputes (vessel and pipeline), Motor Vehicle Accidents, Commercial Contract disputes, Superfund site allocation, Employee Complaint Investigations, Welding Rod (Toxic Tort) litigation, Asbestos (Toxic Tort) litigation, and Silica (Toxic Tort) litigation.

Since 2006, Amy has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center, where she lectures on a full range of Animal Law topics. In addition, she regularly presents Animal Law educational seminars to diverse audiences including veterinarians, lawyers, rescuers, vegans, animal control officers, shelter administrators, and pet enthusiasts. She was appointed to the City of Houston/Harris County Joint Task Force on Animal Issues, served terms as an elected officer in the Animal Law Sections of the Houston Bar Association and State Bar of Texas including two consecutive terms as Chairperson of the State Bar of Texas Animal Law Section. In addition to her civil litigation work Amy maintains an active animal law practice, including animal-related business defense, animal-owner plaintiff actions, veterinary malpractice, animal-related business incorporation and risk assessment, animal related policy and procedure drafting, ownership disputes, will and trust drafting, animal-related contract drafting and litigation, animal welfare organization consulting, and consulting / testifying expert witness services.

As an additional service to many of her clients, Amy drafts planning documents including Wills, Trusts, Designation of Guardian, Medical Power of Attorney, Medical Directive, Statutory Durable Power of Attorney, HIPAA authorizations, Pet Trusts, etc.

Amy is a licensed private pilot, a certified fitness instructor, and an active volunteer for several non-profit animal-welfare organizations. Amy and her rescued German Shepherd Dogs make their home in Kingwood, Texas.
